The Flashing App allows roofers to draw and order custom flashings directly from their phones. You won't have to draw your flashings on a piece of paper anymore and take photos, you can now do it from your phone with the right level of accuracy.
The client came to us for developing an iOS application that allows roofers to draw and order custom flashings from their iPhones. The client wanted this application to be simple yet professional with easy to use navigation.
The biggest challenge in this project came up while drawing custom flashing on canvas, as by changing the value of any line or angle the system keeps on recalculating all the subsequent points. This should not be done, and one line must be kept in the same position whereas the endpoint of another line must be calculated.
For flawless execution and timely delivery, we followed an objective-oriented and systematic development process with a well-planned approach. Started with analyzing complete project specifications, we moved further with sending design questionnaires and deliverables checklist to the client to get things done on time.
To start with the project, we had planned to build the application on the native platform for iOS whereas the login mechanism has been managed by Salesforce via web services. Restful web services have been used to ensure the proper working of all the required features.
We had also applied mathematical formulas to make sure that another endpoint is drawn in the right quadrants and it shouldn’t affect the original design of the flashing. This helps in avoiding recalculation of all subsequent points while changing the value of any line or angle.
